Brisbane duo; Sounds of Soul Brisbane with occasional guests; play various different events like Ska, Reggae or Funk nights, all on original 7” vinyl. We are passionate about our music and have collected vinyl for many years. One style we play is Northern Soul which is a youth culture which changed a generation. It was a nightclub based movement which developed in Northern England from the late 1960's from the British Mod scene based on a particular style of black American soul music with a heavy beat and fast tempo. It is also associated with particular dance styles and fashions that grew out of the underground rhythm and soul scene of the late 1960s. We play monthly at various venues in Brisbane and hold other events in Redcliffe and the Sunshine Coast. We played in the UK in 2021 and New York in 2025.
