Brisbane duo; Sounds of Soul Brisbane play various events using different genres of music for example Ska and Reggae or Funks nights all on original 7” vinyl. We are passionate about our music and have collected vinyl for many years. One style we play is Northern Soul which is a youth culture which changed a generation. It was a nightclub based movement which developed in Northern England from the late 1960's from the British Mod scene based on a particular style of black American soul music with a heavy beat and fast tempo. It is also associated with particular dance styles and fashions that grew out of the underground rhythm and soul scene of the late 1960s. We are resident DJs at Eleven Bridges, South Brisbane monthly and hold other events at many venues around Redcliffe, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. We played in the UK in 2021 and New York in 2025.
